Department: Pharmacy Inventory

Reports to: Pharmacy Inventory Operations Lead

Wage Range: $32.32 to $37.26 per hour (start rate is non-negotiable and in accordance to collective agreement requirements) 

Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week

Shifts: Days, Evenings, Weekends, Statutory Holidays

Status: Permanent Full-Time

Position Summary

As an integral member of the Pharmacy Services Inpatient Inventory Operations Team, the Pharmacy Technician is responsible for the following:
Duties
Responsible for independently performing all technical duties associated with pharmacy inventory control, such as purchasing, receiving, processing invoices, barcoding, labelling, and supporting related inventory management functions
Replenishing stock medication supplies for assigned areas
Ensuring inventory and related pharmacy data and information is updated and maintained in the pharmacy computer system
Completing all required reports and documentation
Attending, participating and assisting in staff and patient training/educational functions
Performing workload measurement support functions
Performing cross-functional and/other duties consistent with the job classification, as assigned or requested

Completion of a Pharmacy Technician Program at an accredited college or recognized equivalent required 
Registration as a Pharmacy Technician (Part A) in good standing with the Ontario College of Pharmacists required 
Ability to work under minimal supervision and to manage competing priorities 
Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
Excellent interpersonal skills 
Ability to learn and troubleshoot changing technologies/machinery
Two years practical and related experience preferred
Previous hospital experience with unit dose system and intravenous admixture service, preferred
