Job Summary The Academic Budget Director will perform complex and comprehensive analysis, including forecasting, trend analysis, financial modeling, and report writing related to academic budget preparation and submission. The Director will manage the compilation, control, and monitoring of the Provost's Office budget. The Director will provide professional and innovative business leadership abilities and training for complex Provost Office and Academic Portfolio operations. The Director will work with the Provost, the AVP for Financial Planning and Budget, the Chief of Staff to the Provost, and Academic leadership abilities to establish and implement academic financial policies and procedures as well as develop and implement planning and quality initiatives. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related field » Five years of related and progressively responsible practice including managery practice, and practice with automated financial management systems » A significant combination of education, directly related and progressively responsible practice and training may be substituted for a degree Preferred Qualifications » Master's Degree » Working expertise of Banner or a similar ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) system » practice using business intelligence systems (i.e. Data Warehouse) » practice in higher education or research setting. Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » capability to work with a wide variety of diverse internal and external constituencies » capability to supervise staff » expertise of fund located budgeting in a non-profit setting » expertise of financial software, including spreadsheet, database, and data warehouse applications » capability to lgain and/or use SCT Banner finance, position control and labor modules or other appropriate applications » Advanced expertise of Excel and Access » capability to produce analyses using both spreadsheet and data query software » Excellent data evaluation expertise and the capability to extract and interpret data from a variety of sources » capability to effectively present information to internal and external groups and audiences » Excellent communication expertise, both verbal and written » Demonstrated planning, organizing and effective time management expertise » Demonstrated success in building collaborative relationships with diverse constituencies » Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate and to influence others in order to meet organizational goals » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $125,000 - $150,000 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
