Job Summary The Lead Broadcast Engineer is a member of the Media Operations team of MultiMedia Services and reports to the Manager of Media Operations. In addition to the standard tasks of the Broadcast Engineer the Lead Broadcast Engineer also coordinates the design, installation, renovation, and preventive maintenance of the equipment, systems and facilities used by MultiMedia Services. Further the Lead Broadcast Engineer can coordinate activities during an emergency when the Media Operations manager and Director are not available. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's degree » 5 years significant professional work practice. » A significant combination of education, training, and directly related practice may be substituted for a degree. » Valid US Driver's License Preferred Qualifications » AVIXA CTS-D, CTS-I and/or SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) certification » AVIXA CTS-D, CTS-I and/or SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers) certification. » practice with VidCAD or similar CAD design software » Extron Control System Programming Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » capability to read schematic diagrams and troubleshoot problems to the component or module level. » expertise and proficiency in the following: o Audio technology o Video technology o Projection systems o Audio Visual Control systems o Public Address systems o Videoconferencing & Video Streaming o Setup and operations of live productions and special events o Various hardware, software and networking equipment and topologies » Computer literacy to include expertise of Microsoft Office and WebCheckout » Planning, organizing and effective time management expertise » Strong commitment to quality and excellent customer service » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives » availability to work in a team environment » Excellent interpersonal expertise » capability to work independently Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Driving a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger use Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $31.00 - $32.83/hr Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
