Job Summary The Production Technician, shops will provide general support to stage technologies for installation, operation and strike activities in the EMPAC building with focused support in the organization and operation of the shop areas. The incumbent will provide training for the proper use of shop equipment and supervise safe use of shop areas. Minimum Qualifications » HS Diploma or GED » 4 years of stage related practice (lighting, carpentry, rigging, stage design, etc.) » A valid Driver's License, cleaning driving record and capability to drive Institute vehicles, including vans significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Preferred Qualifications » Associates degree in significant field » 2 or more years of stage related practice (lighting, carpentry, rigging, stage design, etc.) » Trade specific training Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » expertise of basic construction trades including carpentry, electrical, and welding » Requires good problem-solving expertise involving multiple variables in standard situations » Requires excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational expertise » capability and expertise of field specific operational functions » Strong attention to detail Shift Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Driving a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger use Application instructions Follow the on-screen prompts to create a brief online profile.
