Job Summary The Director of Business Development will lead industry engagement and strategic partnerships for the Center for Smart Convergent Manufacturing Systems (CSCMS), a New York State Center for Advanced Technology (CAT). Serving as the lead strategic and operational advisor to the Center Director and Associate Director, this function supervises business development, outreach and marketing, and external relations. The individual will develop leads and cultivate relationships with manufacturers and other resources, negotiate and secure collaborative R&D projects, and expand the Center's impact across New York State and beyond. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, manufacturing, or related field » Seven (7) or more years in the following: business development, innovation partnerships, or technology commercialization significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Preferred Qualifications » Master's Degree in manufacturing sector » Familiarity with New York State's innovation ecosystem » practice with federal funding (e.g., DoE, NSF, DoD) » Technical sales/business practice in areas significant to the center (e.g robotics, smart manufacturing) Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities » Demonstrated success in building high-value industry relationships » Excellent communication and negotiation expertise Shift Business hours, Monday - Friday TravelOccasional overnight travel may be required (10% or less) Driving Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $100,000 - $110,000 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
