Job Summary The Research Machinist/Welder plans and performs a broad range of machining and bench operations, as well as hand welding to fabricate a variety of short run special or experimental parts, jigs, and fixtures per customer requirements. Minimum Qualifications • High School/Equivalent • Five years' practice in machine tool operations and technical welding significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered. Preferred Qualifications Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities • capability to weld a wide assortment of materials using the appropriate techniques for each • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, sketches, diagrams, and schematics • expertise of standard machine shop equipment including lathes, milling machines and grinders • capability to produce results under pressure situations • Requires a demonstrated commitment to quality and customer service • capability to work independently or as part of a team • capability to work with a diverse population Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelLocal travel between campus locations only Driving Driving a personal vehicle for non-passenger use Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $25.00- $27.75 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
