Job Summary
The Lead Mover & Grounds Specialist provides team leadership abilities with the performing, planning, and scheduling of the Institute's moving services. Support campus events, central receiving deliveries and waste management programs. Perform moving services, snow removal, grounds and landscape tasks, and equipment operations connected with those services. Work in concert with other Leads to support campus wide events. Serve as team leader for crew of assigned staff.

Minimum Qualifications
   » High School diploma or equivalent
   » Five years practice in moving and equipment operation or a significant combination of education, training and directly related practice
   » Valid Driver's License
   » practice with operating moving equipment, mowing and snow removal machines
   » Training/certification to operate wheel loader, forklift and bobcat (or the capability to receive certification within 6 months of hire)

Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities
   » capability to operate and train others on moving techniques and equipment, grounds maintenance and snow removal equipment
   » capability to provide day-to-day direction to staff and lead projects
   » capability to read, write, and perform arithmetic functions
   » Basic computer expertise including Microsoft and job specific software
   » capability work independently and as part of a team
   » Excellent customer service expertise
   » capability to communicate effectively
   » Must have the capability to work flexible hours which may include, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays

Shift
Business Hours with weekends or evenings occasionally required

Driving
Driving a Rensselaer vehicle for non-passenger use
