Job Summary
The Project Manager (PM) reports to the Director of the RARE Center and will manage objectives, schedules, resources, stakeholders and milestones to ensure timely performance of the portfolio of research projects in the Center. The PM is responsible for superviseing day to day execution of project objectives, including coordination across staff, students, and faculty, and assembling data and results for internal and sponsor reporting requirements.

Minimum Qualifications
   » Bachelor's Degree in Earth Science, Chemistry, or related field
   » 3 or more years of project management practice with a focus on experimental and analytical approaches

Preferred Qualifications
   » Master's degree preferred
   » practice working in an interdisciplinary, academic research environment is preferred

Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities
   » expertise of wet laboratory activities, laboratory safety considerations, scientific publication process
   » Demonstrated record of managing complex technical projects (science, engineering, etc.) and prosperous project delivery
   » Competence with research related computer software and/or capability to lgain new software
   » Strong computer expertise; Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs, Wordpress, Drupal, and/or other similar collaboration tools
   » Strong interpersonal expertise and the capability to work effectively with a wide variety of constituencies in a diverse community ranging from students, faculty and staff to external constituencies.
   » capability to develop scientific research programs and implement new strategies and procedures
   » capability to gather and analyze data, compile information, prepare reports and maintain a recordkeeping system
   » capability to provide coordination and management and development of and/or implementation of projects
   » Excellent organizational and time management expertise and the capability to establish priorities
   » Demonstrated oral and written communication expertise to generate scientific materials for public use
   » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives
   » capability to anticipate and solve problems
   » Strong leadership abilities with inclusive approach to decision making
   » capability to work effectively with peers, other organizations, project sponsors, stakeholders and suppliers

Shift
Business Hours: Monday - Friday

TravelOccasional overnight travel may be required(10% or less)
