manager Commercial Lending

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for a Commercial Lending manager. Directly supervise the everyday operations of commercial lending processing and administration, to include both branch/smaller business loan requests as well as larger commercial loan requests.  Supervise the commercial loan process from approval to close. Ensure loan approvals are closed in a timely manner. Directly supervise the SBA 7A portfolio, to include processing and reporting functions.
Responsibilities
   » Supervise the processing and administration of commercial loans, including both the branch/smaller business loan requests as well as larger commercial loan requests. supervise the commercial loan pipeline and monthly pipeline meetings to ensure timely processing and closing of approved commercial loan requests.
   » Assign new commercial loan approvals to the Commercial Loan Processors and closely monitor workflow, making adjustments as needed to meet member needs while adhering to Credit Union policy and procedures. Ensure all post approval conditions are met. Work with servicing departments to maintain commercial loan servicing
   » Ensure commercial loan requests obtain the appropriate approval authority and that credits requiring Business Loan Committee approval are circulated in a timely manner. Exercise lending authority to approve or decline loan requests, when
   » supervise the preparation of post approval documentation, including commitment letters, loan documentation and checklists to ensure accuracy and completeness
   » Interview, hire and develop Commercial Lending staff including individual performance monitoring, employee reviews and development plans. Ensure the team possesses a high level of individual accountcapability for delivering results within attainable
   » Maintain the Credit Union’s commercial loan portfolio by ensuring all commercial loan files are maintained and update to date. Ensure all commercial loan participation documentation is received and updated, when required.
   » supervise the preparation and/or prepare all required department reports to make sure that they are accurate and completed by deadlines, including Watch List, SBA, HMDA and assist with the preparation of monthly/quarterly portfolio reports.
   » supervise the SBA 7A loan portfolio, to include processing and management of this
   » Assist with quarterly compliance reviews and internal audits, external audit and exam, as needed.
   » Ensure procedures are accurate, comprehensive and regularly updated, as well as being in compliance with DFS and NCUA Regulations. Act as a resource to the Commercial Lending Origination staff, Loan Servicing (Real Estate and Consumer), Collections, Quality Control, Branches and members. 
   » Ensure all vendor documentation is up to date and properly maintained. Collect all required documents from new vendors. Ensure department software is properly maintained. 
   » Achieve goals assigned to the manager, Commercial Lending as part of the departments’ annual operating plan. To include initiating and implementing process improvements to enhance member practice and increase department
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of practice required.
   » Minimum 5 years direct commercial loan underwriting practice required.
   » Minimum 1 years managery or leadership abilities practice required.
