Job Summary
The Sr. Human Resources Specialist for Title IX and Employee Relations will provide consultation, investigation, and resolution of employee relations and Title IX/Sexual Misconduct complaints and will create and maintain appropriate documentation including logs of case activity and provide detailed and summary reports as required. The Sr. Human Resources Specialist will counsel and advise managers and employees on employee relations issues and in sensitive situations and maintain confidentiality of information.

Minimum Qualifications
   » Bachelor's Degree 
   » Five (5) or more years of practice in employee relations or investigations, including practice in the practical application of federal and state affirmative action and equal employment opportunity laws. practice developing, interpreting, and applying complex policies and procedures, demonstrated practice investigating complex employee relations, student judicial, discrimination, discriminatory harassment, and sexual misconduct and/or retaliation issues.
   » Title IX certification or the capability to become certified within 3 months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications
   » Master's Degree
   » Certification or Special Training in Title IX compliance or investigation procedures.
   » SUNY Student Conduct Institute, NACUA, ATIXA, or other industry-related certification is desired.

Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities
• Comprehensive expertise of and capability to interpret federal and state harassment and non-discrimination laws and regulations, including Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, etc., and other applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
• capability to prioritize and coordinate multiple complex projects simultaneously while adhering to strict deadlines.
• Strong presentation and facilitation expertise with emphasis on education and training.
• Effective written and verbal communication expertise.
• Intense attention to detail and accuracy of work.

• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Shift
Business Hours: Monday - Friday

Driving
Incidental driving to and from campus locations may be required.

Starting income/Rate
Expected hiring range: $80,000- $90,000 per year.
Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials. This hiring range is provided as Rensselaer's good faith estimate of the expected hiring range at the time of posting.
