Job Title : Accounting Clerk
Location : Brewster, NY
Job Type : Direct Hire
Schedule : Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM (flexible hours available if needed)
Compensation : $18 - $26 per hour, depending on practice
Position Overview
We are pursuing a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Clerk to join our team in Brewster, NY. This is a direct hire position offering a competitive hourly rate, with flexibility in working hours. The ideal candidate will have practice in billing, collections, and customer account management, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.
Accounting Clerk Qualifications
   » Strong organizational expertise with an eye for detail.
   » Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
   » practice in billing, collections, and account reconciliation preferred.
   » capability to work independently and as part of a team.
   » Proficiency in significant accounting software is a plus.
Accounting Clerk Responsibilities
   »Billing and Collections : Adhere to all established billing and collection procedures, ensuring timely and accurate processing of payments.
   »Account Reconciliation : Reconcile outstanding account balances, prepare weekly accounts receivable reports, and maintain detailed notes on customer accounts.
   »Customer Assistance : Address and resolve customer inquiries regarding their accounts, providing clear and effective communication.
   »Credit Management : Approve order releases for accounts on credit hold, and review and process credit applications in line with company guidelines.
   »Past Due Management : Issue past due notices via email or mail, and manage follow-up actions for uncollected CODs, skipped invoices, underpayments, and NSF checks.
   »Payment Processing : Process approved customer payments, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
   »Collections : Engage in collection activities, including sending follow-up inquiries and negotiating repayment terms with overdue accounts.
   »Team Collaboration : Participate in credit department meetings, sharing insights and concerns with management to ensure smooth operations.
   »Additional tasks : Perform other related tasks as assigned to support the department’s overall function.
