adjunct Coach

Supports the Head Coach in all aspects of running a competitive collegiate softball program. This includes, but is not limited to, recruiting, training, mentoring student-athletes, and administrative tasks. Helps foster an environment that promotes the physical, mental, and academic growth of the players.

adjunct Softball Coach - PT

Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, part-time
manager: Head Softball Coach

Position Purpose:
Assists in the organization, development, and leadership abilities of a competitive Softball Program in support of the mission and core values of Union College.

Essential tasks and Responsibilities:
   »Coaching and Player Development: Assists in planning and conducting practice sessions. Provides individual and group instruction focused on skill development and team strategy during games, practice, and individual sessions. In partnership with the Head Coach evaluates player performance and provides feedback.
   »Administration: Assists in organizing and managing team logistics, including travel arrangements and equipment. Provides support in the developing and implementing game strategies. Fosters a positive and inclusive team environment.

Qualifications required
   » Prior practice in coaching and playing softball, preferably at the high school or college level preferred.
   » Possess solid organizational, interpersonal and leadership abilities expertise.
   » knowledge of National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) rules and regulations.
   » capability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends is required.
   » Physical General Requirements: capability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) and stand, bend and stoop for extended periods of time.
   » A valid New York State driver's license is required.
   » Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication expertise.
   » The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues

Compensation:
The expected rate for this job offer is $15.00 per hour. Compensation includes an hourly rate plus college housing and a meal plan. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
