Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Coordinator

The Director of Equal Opportunity and Title IX Coordinator works collaboratively with various departments, including Student Affairs, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety and the Chief Diversity agent to ensure the College's adherence to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and other laws governing gender-located misconduct and equal opportunity protections. Plays a pivotal function in fostering and securing a nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth of all College community members.

Position Purpose: Under general direction by the Vice President for Human Resources and Chief of Staff, Office of the President, works collaboratively with various departments, including Student Affairs, Human Resources, Academic Affairs, Campus Safety and the Chief Diversity agent to ensure the College's adherence to Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972, and other laws governing gender-located misconduct and equal opportunity protections. Plays a pivotal function in fostering and securing a nurturing environment conducive to academic and personal growth of all College community members.

Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
   »
Compliance: Facilitates compliance with all procedures, requirements and timeframes outlined in the Title IX Policy, Gender-located Misconduct Policy, and the Policy Prohibiting Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation in Employment. Leads an effort to review and revise policies in response to changes in regulations, guidance. Reviews and compiles reports in compliance with federal and state law and to identify and address any patterns or systemic problems of reports of harassment and misconduct within the College community. Completes annual assessment report of progress to goals.

Collaboration & Partnership: Collaborates with colleagues in Student Affairs and Human Resources to identify topics, design and deliver student and employee training including compliance content training (e.g. NCAA Title IX requirements, new student orientation requirements, etc.). Coordinates with local organizations and service providers to ensure our community members have access to confidential resources. Manages partnerships with other external agencies with which the College has a partnership in executing its responsibilities under Title IX.

Supervision: Selects, trains, assigns and supervises designated functions including Deputy Title IX Coordinators, investigators, adjudication panel members and advisors; ensure all are adequately trained in compliance with Title IX guidance and significant EEO laws.
Qualifications:
   »
A Master's degree in a related field such as human resources, law, social justice, or a significant discipline and/or a Juris Doctorate, and a Minimum of three years of practice in equal opportunity compliance, Title IX administration, or a related field, preferably in a higher education or non profit organizational setting.
   »
broad practice working on compliance with Title IX, Title VII, ADA, Age Discrimination, and Section 504 regulatory requirements.
   »
Demonstrated skills in federal and state laws and regulations pertaining to equal opportunity, affirmative action, and Title IX, including comprehensive knowledge of Title VII, Title IX, the Clery Act, and related guidance from the Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights.

Demonstrated knowledge and sensitivity towards practices and expressions of trauma caused by sexual violence, discrimination and harassment.

Strong presentation skills with an emphasis on education and training for a variety of constituencies.

Compensation
The annual income range this job offer is $115,000.00 - $123,000.00. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
