At SUNY Orange, the Human Services program is a vital pathway for students who are interested in helping careers. We are pursuing a Coordinator for the Human Services degree program who will also have teaching responsibilities (18 credits per academic year) and will be assigned to teach Human Services courses and psychology and/or sociology courses. The Human Services Coordinator is the point person linking all constituents in the Human Services program: students, faculty, field placement agencies, and significant cooperating units at the college.
this job offer supervises the placement of human services students at human services agencies and organizations where client care and/or services are provided. this job offer also acts as a career advisor for students in the program, coordinates with the department chair and faculty on curricular matters, course substitutions, scheduling offerings and represents the program internally and externally.
this job offer requires a wide variety of professional responsibilities and activities, including participation in curriculum and course development, departmental planning, attendance at department and college meetings, participation on department and Governance committees, student advising, and other tasks as assigned.
This instructor will be expected to participate in College and Departmental assessment initiatives.
Teaching assignments may be on the Middletown or Newburgh campus or both.

General Requirements:

Education Required: Master's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
practice Required: College teaching and advising practice; practice mentoring early career professionals; practice with the New York Human Services organizational ecosystem.
Preferred expertise, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
   » Community college or higher education practice.
   » capability to effectively establish and maintain working relationship with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public.
   » Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
   » capability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
   » capability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion
   » Must be able to travel between the college's two campuses and other sites.
   » Bilingual expertise.

income: $57, 431 per annum; a stipend per contract; and redefined load of 12 credits or 16 contacts per academic year.
This is a 10 month Staff & Chair position.
