Listing description The Associate Vice President of Health Professions (AVPHP) is a twelve-month position that reports to the Provost and is responsible for overall leadership abilities, planning and budgeting, and program renewal and development. The Associate Vice President is also responsible for all day-to-day academic, administrative, and personnel matters relating to the academic division, which includes the following programs: Clinical Laboratory Science, Dental Hygiene, Diagnostic Imaging, Movement Science, Nursing, Occupational Therapy adjunct and Physical Therapy adjunct. The AVPHP contributes to the Provost senior leadership abilities team, helping to formulate and implement present and future academic plans and assessments and assists in the implementation of projects from the President's Cabinet that involve campus-wide initiatives/issues. The AVPHP provides vision and leadership abilities in the areas of curriculum and pedagogical development (e.g., new programs/certificates, technology integration, online learning) as well as evening, weekend, and intersession programming. Additional responsibilities include identifying, developing, and superviseing grants and other external funding sources in conjunction with the College's Grants Director. General Requirements: Education Required: A Master's degree or higher in an academic discipline within the Division or a closely related field. practice Required: Demonstrated knowledge of the community college mission, and the structure, curricular design, and accreditation requirements of health professions instruction at the college level. Demonstrated practice teaching results-driven curricula, preferably at a community college. A minimum of three (3) years in progressively responsible administrative positions within health care educational programs or health care delivery organizations. Demonstrated leadership abilities expertise, strong interpersonal expertise, personnel supervision, budget oversight and expense control, and project management expertise. Demonstrated capability to maintain a climate of open communication, collegiality, and teamwork within the Division and all over the College at-large. Preferred Knowledge, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics: » Community college teaching practice » practice as a Department Chair or Program Coordinator of an Associate or Baccalaureate level health professions program » practice with curriculum development, review, and revision » practice with accreditation activities within a health profession » practice with educational technologies and their integration into traditional classroom settings and asynchronous/synchronous delivery systems. » practice with short and long range planning, and budget preparation and allocation. » capability to effectively establish and maintain positive working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public. » capability to effectively manage multiple complex projects simultaneously. » Bilingual expertise.
