Excellent Opportunity!Internal AuditorTitle: Internal Auditorincome Range: $70,000 - $95,000 General Summary: The Internal Auditor function is responsible for the independent oversight, monitoring, and execution of the bank’s overall internal audit program. Requires knowledge of federal and state banking laws and regulations as well as auditing and internal controls knowledge applicable to the Bank. Essential tasks and Job Responsibilities: Audit » supervise the Bank’s Internal Audit Firm, completion of the annual Internal Audit Risk Assessment, and oversight of the overall internal audit program. » Track internal audit, compliance, and regulatory findings to ensure resolution and validation by the internal auditor. » Participates in response to exam and internal audit findings and supervise corrective action of all audit findings. Internal Audit » Maintain a comprehensive audit program in conformity with industry accepted internal auditing standards. » Continuously update the audit framework to provide specific guidance and expectations for the bank’s audit methodology and ensure audit work meets management and Board expectations in an effort to identify control deficiencies. » Formalize the oversight of the internal audit function to ensure audit work papers conform to contractual agreements and internal auditing standards. » Develop internal audit procedures sufficient to identify control weaknesses, validate open issues, and manage the entire process with a focus on independence and regular reporting of activities. » Formalize and manage the independent validation of deficiencies cited by regulators or auditors, testing of design and operating effectiveness, and assess the sustaincapability of corrective actions. » Enhance and update, regularly, the issue follow-up process, as required or recommended. » Participate in quarterly review of sample audit work papers with Audit Committee and management to ensure compliance with auditing standards as well as effective design of testing with a focus on meeting bank expectations for reliance. Independent Audit Liaison » Administratively review the draft audit responses and target resolution dates for reasonableness. » Maintain and update the Audit Policy and Internal Audit Manual on a regular basis to ensure consistency with bank and board tolerances and risk appetite. » Communication of results to Bank management and the audit committee, including recommendations for best practices and opportunities for improvement. » Perform additional bank-wide corporate audit as determined by the audit program, or any additional testing deemed necessary as the bank’s risk tolerances evolve. » Develop and maintain a formal Quality Assurance and Improvement Program (QAIP) to further provide support to management and Board reliance on the internal control structure of the bank, including information technology » Track internal audit, compliance, and regulatory findings to ensure resolution and validation by the internal auditor. » contact with the Compliance Department to determine regulatory appliccapability for all audit issues. Risk Management related » Provide support to the Risk Management (“RM”) function, as deemed necessary » Assist in providing key metrics to RM in an effort to support the bank-wide Enterprise Risk Management (“ERM”) program and activities » Perform review of practices within various departments against internal protocols to identify opportunities for improvement and risk mitigation » Provide additional oversight of the internal audit function related to information technology, including audit standards, audit planning, testing the effectiveness of the audit plans, as well as documenting and supporting the validation of IT audit and regulatory findings. » Reporting results of these reviews to the Audit Committee and management on a regular basis Miscellaneous » Attend various Board Committee meetings as needed » Participate or Lead any investigations, if required, by management » Provide any additional reviews or assistance, as deemed necessary, by all operating groups within Orange Bank and Trust, including but not limited to, Compliance, Regulatory, Risk, and Financial/Internal Controls OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES » Other responsibilities as assigned by management. EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, practice: suitable education Required: Four-year banking, business, or law related degree (or equivalent job related branch/compliance practice). practice: Required: Five (5) years Internal Audit practice Preferred: Ten (10) years or more banking employment. KNOWLEDGE, expertise, ABILITIES: knowledge of consumer protection and public interest laws and regulations. Good writing and communication expertise. WORK ENVIRONMENT: » Working Conditions: Conditions are generally good with little discomfort caused by noise, heat, and dust. » Equipment Operations : Must be able to use Microsoft Office PHYSICAL DEMANDS: » Frequently required to sit for prolonged periods of time. » Normal range of vision, speech and hearing abilities required. » Mobility required greeting and assisting employees and visitors. » Frequently required to skillfully operate a computer, telephone and other standard office equipment. » Occasionally travel outside of work location to attend meetings and training programs. » Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
