adjunct Professor of Economics

Union College invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the adjunct professor rank in the Department of Economics beginning September 1, 2025. Position description:
We prefer candidates with skills in the economics of gender, race, inequality, or industrial organization for one position. We also have some preferences for candidates who can teach environmental economics. this job offer falls under the following Journal of Economic Literature (JEL) classifications:

H - Public Economics
I - Health, Education, and Welfare
J - Labor and Demographic Economics
L - Industrial Organization
M - Business Administration and Business Economics, Marketing, Accounting, Personnel Economics
O3 - Innovation, Research and Development, Technological Change, Intellectual Property Rights
Q5 - Environmental Economics

The prosperous applicant should have a Ph.D. by September 1, 2025, an established record of teaching excellence, a strong research program, and will be able to teach Introduction to Economics, Intermediate Microeconomics, or Econometrics as well as elective courses related to their specialization.

About the Economics Department:
Our teaching load is six courses over three ten-week terms, up to two of which may take the form of supervision of undergraduate theses. Tenure track hires have a one-course load reduction in their first year and receive additional research support. For more information regarding the Department, please visit .

Compensation:
The annual income range for this job offer is$93,000-96,000. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
