Job Summary The Department of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at RENSSELAER POLYTECHNIC INSTITUTE in Troy, NY, invites applications for a tenured or tenure-track faculty position in Materials Science and Engineering. Areas of interest include materials for artificial intelligence, for cognitive computing, and for novel electronic devices. We will also consider exceptional candidates working in other areas of materials science and engineering. Applications will be considered at the adjunct, Associate or Full Professor levels. Candidates must possess an earned Ph.D. or foreign degree equivalent in Materials Science and Engineering or a closely related field. Candidates for the rank of adjunct Professor must exhibit, through their accomplishments, promise of future distinction in research, scholarship, and education. Candidates for the rank of Associate/Full Professor must possess a record of excellence in scholarship as demonstrated by an emerging/established national and/or international reputation and a significant funding record, high quality educational activities, including teaching and advising, and a significant level of service to their department, institute, and the profession. The MSE Department boasts multiple world leaders in diverse fields of materials science, including electronic materials, glass science, nanotechnology, biomaterials, computational materials science, and materials informatics.
