PROSPERAR at SUNY Orange has provided our college community with a wonderful opportunity to Accelerate and amplify our Guided Pathways/SOEX work with targeted strategies identified to increase the support and success of all students, and particularly our growing Hispanic student population.
The PROSPERAR Business Pathway Coach works collaboratively in a diverse, inclusive and student-centered environment, with students of various learning styles, identities and life practices. As a representative of one of the seven communities, this job offer centers on clearing the path for students to graduate, with targeted strategies to meet the needs of Hispanic and low-earnings students. The PROSPERAR Business Pathway Coach will help students gain access to resources when most needed. Programming is focused on student skill development in time management, long-term planning, study expertise, and self-advocacy to support academic retention and completion. Through individual and group advisement, the PROSPERAR Business Pathway Coach will ensure that students utilize the resources that have been recommended and monitor their impact on student success. Emphasis is placed on making student referrals to appropriate services that foster collaborative support from multiple departments. The PROSPERAR Business Pathway Coach will serve as a support system to the Business department in order to ensure that students graduate from college, explore vocational opportunities, and find their career path. Travel may be required between both campuses and other sites, as needed. capability and availability to work a flexible schedule to accommodate the needs of the program, including evening, and some weekends, is essential.

General Requirements:

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field.
practice Required: Proficient in time management and financial literacy, as well as, navigating financial aid and/or admissions and career counseling. Excellent verbal and written communication expertise.
Preferred expertise, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
   » Master's Degree in Business, Social or Behavioral Science, or related field.
   » practice with developing, conducting and evaluating educational programs.
   » expertise of higher education, training and vocational programs.
   » expertise about community and college resources.
   » practice working with low-income, first-generation populations.
   » Strong organizational expertise, attention to detail, capability to complete tasks accurately and in a timely manner.

   » capability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, coworkers, all constituents and the public.
   » Perform well under pressure, within time constraints, with a high degree of accuracy, diplomacy and confidentiality.
   » capability to coordinate work flow while dealing with multiple projects and deadlines.
   » capability to present complex information and data in coherent fashion.
   » Bilingual-Spanish.

Additional Information:

income: $46,705 - $61,884 per annum, commensurate with practice and grant funding.
This is a Staff & Chair, Grade 40, 12 month position.
