Building Service Worker I - FT

Listing description

Responsibilities include routine and repetitive manual work calling for the efficient and economical performance of building cleaning and occasional minor maintenance tasks. Cleaning tasks are performed according to a well-established procedure, and maintenance tasks are performed under direct supervision or according to specific instructions. Direct supervision is received from appointed manager. Does related work as required.
Hours : Monday-Thursday 3PM - 11PM, Friday 1PM -9PM (35 hrs/wk, one hour unpaid lunch). Occasional weekends required all over the year Alternate hours may be required. May have to travel between campuses. Current county CSEA employees retain existing paid hours. SUMMER hours begin June 5 through June 29. Monday-Thursday 1:30 pm to 10:45 with 30 minute meal break. Fridays off.

General Requirements:

practice and expertise preferred: Working expertise of building cleaning practices, supplies and equipment; capability to follow oral and written instructions; availability to execute routine cleaning and other manual tasks; capability to get along well with others; thoroughness; dependcapability; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. Snow shoveling is required. Prior custodial practice.
Special General Requirements: Must possess at the time of appointment and maintain a valid driver's license.
Full-time, 12 months, Civil Service Temporary Substitute Appointment - Labor Class. The nature this appointment is temporary substitute. Once the permanent holder attains status in another position, this job offer will become permanent (subject to probationary term).
