Job Summary The Research Support Technician (RST) or Sr. RST is a member of a highly specialized team of engineers and technicians that assists with the construction, operation, maintenance, and repair of the teaching and research laboratories infrastructure at the Gaerttner LINAC Center. Minimum Qualifications » Associate's degree in electrical, electronics, mechanical technology or related field » One (1) year of applied work practice to include: » practice with electrical/electronic measurements using common meters and instrumentation » practice using common hand & power tools for construction and plumbing candidates must meet stated minimum education and practice requirements. Preferred Qualifications » Operation of general machine shop tools including, drill press, milling machines, band saw, and metal lathe » Computer Aided Design (CAD) & Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) » Computer Programming; LabVIEW, C++, Python, Java, and Arduino for Control Systems » PC troubleshooting and Windows/Linux setup and deployment » Performing vacuum system maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair Minimum Knowledge, expertise, and Abilities » knowledge of electricity; AC & DC voltage, current, power, and impedance » knowledge of computer Systems and software; PCs with Microsoft Windows 10, Word, Excel, & PowerPoint » capability to assemble, test, and repair basic electronic circuits employing prototype boards and printed circuit boards » capability to assemble pre-engineered basic mechanical assemblies » capability to execute basic vacuum system maintenance such as leak testing, identification, and repair » Working knowledge of general safety including radiation safety » Excellent interpersonal and communication expertise » Planning, organizing and effective time management expertise » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday TravelNo travel Driving No Driving Starting income/Rate Expected hiring ranges: » Research Support Technician - $24.00 - $28.00 / hr » Sr. Research Support Technician - $28.00 - $31.00 /hr Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
