Our building is perched on a cliff 40 feet above the Hudson River and just 50 feet from its eastern bank. With creative cuisine, exceptional service, and unmatched Hudson River views, Shadows on the Hudson is the best choice for your next special event.Job Overview: Line cooks are the Shadows employees most directly responsible for the quality of food we produce. Using the supplies produced by the prep cooks and the recipes designed by the Executive Chef and Owners the line cooks produce, plate, and present our appetizers, salads and entrees, in a timely fashion, to the high quality standards set by the organization. Essential Job Functions: » Wash your hands when you arrive at work and all over your shift » Follow all required guidelines for PPE when required to wear and maintain a clean and sanitized uniform at all times. » Produce, plate and present our appetizers, salads and entrees in a timely fashion and accurate to order » Control profit by limiting waste » Follow all Occupational Safety and Health Act, local health and safety codes, and company safety and security policy » Ensure food quality and 100% customer satisfaction » Maintain portion control and preparation quantities to minimize waste » Maintain Coolers, Freezers, and Dry Storage when needed and restock » Sanitize work area all over shift » Follow all required guidelines for PPE when required to wear and maintain a clean and sanitized uniform at all times. Physical Requirements of the Line Cook Position: » Withstand temperatures of 0 degrees Fahrenheit or less and 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater for periods of 30 minutes or more. » Move 50 lbs. distances of up to 100 ft. » Understand and respond to verbal requests and visual cues in a loud and extremely busy environment. » Must be able to walk and stand for periods up to 5 hours.
