Office adjunct -Academic Success Center-10 monthsListing descriptionThrough our learning assistance programs, the Academic Success Center seeks to provide all students with academic support outside the classroom and equal access to information in the classroom. Our goal is to not only help students become independent and confident learners, but also to increase their academic success and help them reach their ultimate goal of graduation. At Saint Rose, academic support services are an interactive partnership between our staff and the students we serve. this job offer is responsible for professionally interacting with and assisting students, parents, and faculty in a high traffic office. The Office adjunct handles scheduling of appointments, processing documentation and performing other administrative tasks in support of the office operations. RESPONSIBILITIES: » Provide customer service to students, parents, and faculty in person, on the phone and via e-mail. » Schedule office services and maintain the master schedule of all appointments and exams. » Coordinate the exam process for students with disabilities. This includes: a) Collaborating with the Director, faculty and students regarding testing accommodations and scheduling, resolving scheduling conflicts and ensuring all the steps of the process are completed, b) Arranging details for testing, such as dates, room assignments and resources needed. » Proctor exams taking place in the Academic Success Center as needed. » Assist with organizing data received from the student alert system for assessment purposes. » Perform data entry for the department, including information about services rendered and student workers' hours. » Assist with coordinating programs and workshops. » Perform routine office operations, such as ordering supplies, filing, mailings and other clerical tasks. » Handle confidential documents with discretion. » Select, train and supervise work-study students. Create and update the work-study schedule each semester. General Requirements: » At least one year of office/secretarial/administrative support practice » Demonstrated effective interpersonal expertise, good judgement and excellent problem- solving expertise » Demonstrated organizational expertise and practice multi-tasking in a fast-paced work environment with frequent distractions » practice with tasks that require accuracy and attention to detail » Intermediate level computer expertise using a Windows located operating system, specifically Microsoft Office, including Outlook calendar, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. » Excellent verbal and written communication expertise » Demonstrated capability to handle confidential information with discretion » capability to interact and relate to various constituencies from diverse backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities Additional Information: Academic year position : works from mid-August (2 weeks before start of classes) through mid-May (1 week after graduation) Full-time, 40 hours/week.
