Job Summary The Director, Export Control and Research Security will lead and coordinate efforts across the university to manage compliance with both the export and research security requirements, including development and updating of policies and procedures for compliance. The Director will also lead and coordinate education efforts across the Institute's research enterprise. The Director will coordinate closely with other offices at the Institute, including the Office of the Vice President of Research, the Office of the Provost, the Office of International Student Support and Services, as well as the Divisions of the Chief Information Office, Human Resources, and others as necessary. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's degree and at least five (5) years of practice in export control compliance or research compliance. » Broad knowledge of the compliance requirements of federal, state, and other regulatory agencies. » Due to U.S. export control regulations, candidates must be: (1) U.S. citizens or nationals; (2) permanent residents; (3) asylees or refugees; or (4) individuals otherwise described as "protected individuals" according to Title 8 U.S. Code Section 1324b(a)(3)(b). » Commitment to obtaining export control certification specific to higher education industry within one year, as courses are available » significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered.
