Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, Regular full-time manager: adjunct Director of Facilities, Construction & Project Management Position Purpose: supervises and manages the College's structural trades department. supervises the everyday operation, budgets and management of each of the areas including structural, lock shop, and painting. Essential Responsibilities and tasks: »Operations Coordination: Coordinates departmental work orders and maintenance across the campus. Develops scopes of work for various campus projects in preparation for bidding and proposals. Communicates and coordinates clearly with all constituents on campus regarding project or work order status, construction impacts and schedules. Assists in project planning for capital and deferred maintenance projects. Collaborates with all departments on work that overlaps (e.g. heating, ventilation, and air conditioning plumbing, grounds, electrical, building services, etc.) and helps coordinate project schedules with peers and direct reports. »Financial Management: supervises and manages the department budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals. Collaborates with the adjunct Director on quarterly forecasting models. Initiates purchases of materials/equipment and procures contractors for all assigned projects, including residence life, deferred maintenance, capital projects, and summer projects. »Administrative Compliance: Recommends purchases and changes in procedures to the adjunct Director. Complies with departmental and College-wide policies and procedures. Develops standard operating procedures within the structural group. »Team leadership abilities and Development: Conducts weekly meetings with the structural team. Manages and reviews everyday work schedules and vacation/time away coverage and schedules appropriate staffing levels for on call and major events (e.g. Reunion, Board of Trustees, Commencement) in collaboration with the Director of Special Events. supervises the actions of structural employees, including annual evaluations. Recommends disciplinary action as necessary. Pursues professional development and training opportunities for continued growth. »Facilities Management and Safety: Ensures adherence to safety protocols, regulations, and industry standards related to structural trades, promoting a safe working environment. Keeps abreast with safety standards and protocols set forth by the College. Ensures proper functioning and asset allocation of the work request system. Identifies facilities needs within residential and deferred maintenance areas. Conducts inspections of work performed by staff and outside contractors, prioritizing items related to life safety. Qualifications required » Associates degree with a concentration in construction and 7-10 years practice related to construction or general contracting, or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. » capability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods of time. » Computer proficient with general proficiency in Microsoft Office, enterprise systems and Google platforms. » expertise of all general phases of construction and facilities maintenance gained through education, continuing education, and/or significant work practice. » Able to understand and identify challenging situations that may require decisions on where they fall as priorities to the department and campus community » Able to multitask and react quickly to challenging and stressful situations that may come up at any time. » The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues. » Able to anticipate, deliver on, and exceed the expectations of the students, faculty staff and the campus community. » Able to introduce and drive innovation in ways small and large. » Able to proactively identify and pursue significant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new expertise, insights, and expertise to enhance results. » Able to proactively identify any possible training and development opportunities for staff within their sector and Facilities Services as a whole. » OSHA 10 and OSHA 30 certifications, CPR certifications. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
