Family-founded and deeply rooted in the community since 1919. &n bsp;Job Description - Garden Center Associate General Purpose The Garden Center Associate provides customer-friendly service to our valuable customers and provides the quality products that Adams is known for. This means fulfilling customer requests, keeping all displays stocked and organized, keeping the department clean, and being the primary line for quality control in the department. FLSA Status : Non-Exempt Reports To: Garden Center Manager, Garden Center adjunct Manager, Garden Center manager Job Description » Ensure that customers receive the best customer service by providing friendly, polite, and expertiseable service » Greet customers personally and thank them appreciatively for shopping at Adams » Be the primary line for quality control: look for packaging issues, and be vigilant about quality and presentation of all products put out for sale » Keep all areas of the department clean and organized, including sales floor » When a customer needs assistance, give the customer priority over the task at hand » Make sure shelves and displays are kept fully stocked and organized with correct signage » Unpack, price, and stock inventory » Load cart and/or vehicle for the customer » Operate the register and FM » Bag Garden Center products » Greet customers at the register and on the phone » Maintain indoor and outdoor area (sweep floors and sidewalks, dust shelves, neaten products and displays) »Responsible for watering plants and cleaning the polyhouse Physical Requirements » Sweep floors &nb sp; » Consistently lift up to 50 lbs. » Use fingers to type on register » Climb ladder/step stool » Squat, stretch and stand on feet for duration of scheduled shift » Verbally communicate well » Work outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions » Stand for long periods of time » capability to work in extreme temperatures Mental/Reasoning Requirements » capability to read and write » Basic math expertise &nbs p; &n bsp; » Organizational expertise » Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers Disclaimer The above statements are intended to describe the general responsibilities of this job offer.
