ATHLETIC FACILITIES SPECIALISTAthletics Facilities SpecialistWork Days: Thursday - Monday Shift Start/End Time: Varies located on business needs Hours Per Week: 40 Weeks Per Year: 52 manager: adjunct Director of Athletics Facilities Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, regular full-time Position Purpose: Supports the adjunct Director of Athletic Facilities in maintaining and managing the operations of athletic facilities at the College. Attends events at the ice rink to assist with programming needs and provides a welcoming environment for employees, students, and the general public. Essential Responsibilities and tasks: »Cleaning: everyday cleaning of restrooms, locker rooms, windows, lobby and spectator areas, includes sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal. Seasonal tasks include snow shoveling and snow blowing. »Maintenance: Maintains the mechanical machinery of the ice rink and other facilities. Coordinates ice installation, maintenance and resurfacing. »Event and Program Support: Attends events at the ice rink to assist in various tasks for programming, including skate sharpening and equipment repair, and other events as assigned. »Collaboration: Partners with the adjunct Director of Athletics Facilities to complete maintenance, organize and execute events within any of our athletic facilities, and ensure safety protocols are followed. Pitches in to assist colleagues as needed. Qualifications required » High school diploma or equivalent and two to three years of practice in grounds, custodial, and/or maintenance and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. » Exceptional communication and interpersonal expertise, including the capability to be impartial and establish rapport with a diverse range of campus community members. » Maintains a valid New York State driver's license. » capability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. » capability to lift heavy objects, up to 75 pounds. » capability to stand, bend, stoop, and walk up stairs for extended periods of time required. » capability to operate standard housekeeping equipment. » Able to communicate effectively and courteously with employees, students, managers, and the general public. » Able to support, contribute to, and strengthen a vibrant, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community of students, alumni, faculty, and fellow staff colleagues. Preferred Qualifications required » Three years of progressive ice arena operations practice. » practice in operating an ice resurfacer. » practice in facility management and Serving The American Rinks (STAR) Operations Certificate. » practice with engine repair.
