DIRECTOR OF RESEARCH AND ENGAGEMENT/ASSOCIATE LIBRARIAN

Director of Research and Engagement/Associate Librarian
Pay Status and Classification: Exempt, Regular full-time. This is an 12 month position. this job offer is eligible for a hybrid work schedule.

Position Purpose: Leads the development and implementation of a user-centered approach to library services, superviseing the Research and Engagement department to ensure optimal access, research support, teaching, and outreach. Plays an integral function in advising library strategy, budgeting, and program development as part of the Library leadership abilities Team.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
   »leadership abilities and Oversight: Provides visionary leadership abilities and oversight to Research and Engagement, emphasizing a user-centered approach with a focus on accessibility, equity, and inclusion. Establishes and implements departmental goals, ensuring cohesive services and evaluating results. Coordinates partnerships to enhance the library's teaching function and educational impacts. Collaborates on digital scholarship projects with a cross-functional team. Works closely with Library leadership abilities to set strategic direction, develop policies, and manage budgets.
   »Operational Responsibilities: Drives engagement with library collections, innovative services, and emerging technologies among students and faculty. Recruits, develops, evaluates, and mentors a diverse library staff. Contributes to digital scholarship, library instruction and research services.
   »Community Engagement and Representation: Engages in campus committees and events to reinforce the Library's mission. Represents the College regionally and nationally in significant associations. Stays updated on library trends through literature, conferences, and networking.
   »Professional Development and Research: Demonstrated capability to learn, experiment, and advance expertise to meet challenges connected with the changing needs of research and instruction. Conducts research aligned with job requirements and for promotion purposes. Attends conferences and meetings regionally and nationally to represent the college and to stay current with trends in the field.
Qualifications required
   » Master's degree in library or information science from an ALA-accredited program, and a minimum of seven years of progressive practice in academic library management with specialized focus areas. or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice.
   » Demonstrated dedication to undergraduate research, teaching, and fostering a culture of learning.
   » Proficient in strategic planning, project management, and evaluation of academic library programs and services.
   » Excellent oral and written communication expertise.
   » Proven track record of collaborative work with diverse stakeholders including library colleagues, faculty, administrators, staff, and students to achieve common objectives.
   » capability to implement inclusive and engaging strategies in customer service, teaching operations, and programming.
   » prosperous history of leadership abilities involving supervision, employee development, change management and adoption of library technology.
   » Evidence of scholarly activity and active participation in professional services within the field.
   » The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.

Compensation
The annual income range this job offer is $95,000 - $100,000. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
