Instructional Designer - Contract

Overview

This is a 6-month, full time, remote function that can be performed in NY, CT, NJ, NC, TN, TX, FL, CO, PA, MO. The selected candidate will be treated as a member of the team and expected to be available for meetings and calls via video and phone between 8am-5pm EST/EDT. This contract includes an option to extend. This is not a function for those with additional jobs/contracts during HVCU’s business hours.
 
The hourly rate for this function is $52.88 per hour. Invoices will be paid bi-weekly. This compensation does not include benefits of any kind, and the contractor is responsible for their own expenses and tax responsibilities. A HVCU laptop will be provided.
Responsibilities

The Contract Instructional Designer will author engaging and interactive learning practices in multiple modalities using instructional design best practices and processes. They may use tools like the Microsoft Office Suite, the Articulate Suite, Canva, and video editing software. They will partner with the Manager, Instructional Design team to document internal instructional design processes and collaborate with the HVCU Instructional Design Team on internal design projects. Assess learner and organizational needs using a consultative approach.
   »
Author clear and measureable learning objectives with corresponding assessment plans.
   »
Design learning activities that encourage learner-directed participation, peer-to-peer learning, and significant engagement.
   »
Author instructional design documents, facilitator guides, learner guides, and job aids that meet internal style guidelines and our internal design rubric.
   »
Storyboard and author learning deliverables including e-learning modules, videos, software simulations, using tools like Articulate Rise, Articulate Storyline, Canva, Wave, and Vyond.
   »
Consult on internal instructional design processes and practices.
   »
Responsible for regular and predictable attendance during working hours 8am-5pm EST/EDT, this includes punctuality. Must be reachable via phone and video during working hours. Phone and Internet accesss must be reliable.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of practice.
   » Minimum 2 years Designing and developingin-person and blended learning that incorporates adult learning principles and results in engaging and significant programs.
   » Minimum 2 years Designing and developing online learning, distance learning, blended curricula including using online learning authoring tools.
   » Financial Institution practice is preferred.
