Job Summary
The Associate Director for Physical Plant is responsible for the day-to-day management, productivity and accountcapability of all service staff in the Physical Plant shops. this job offer is responsible for closely coordinating all assigned Physical Plant operations with the Director, his/her other direct reports and appropriate shop managers. The Associate Director is also responsible for assisting the Director with short and long-range performance planning and metrics, personnel management, policy development, budget development and execution, deferred maintenance program assistance and major capital project support. this job offer will manage major and deferred maintenance projects as assigned. Other responsibilities include management of the preventive maintenance program, emergency repairs, facility commissioning, residence-life maintenance support, building code compliance and staff development programs. In addition, this job offer will be providing oversight and support to utility system O&M, emergency planning and response, security systems, indoor air quality and the space management program.

Minimum Qualifications
   » Bachelor's degree in civil, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field.
   » 8 years of practice in management of facilities repair/maintenance operations including direct supervision of varied trade shop subordinate staff.
   » practice in personnel management, coordinating/directing a variety of maintenance operations and managing new construction/renovation work.
   » practice with performance improvement/quality programs, facilities planning initiatives, use of CMMS systems, budgeting and procurement activities and executing wide variety of service and repair contracts.
   » practice troubleshooting complex system or equipment failures, responding to facilities emergencies, managing preventive maintenance systems, and working with deferred maintenance programs.

Preferred Qualifications
   » practice at large multi-building facilities that include centralized utilities including one or more electric substations, boiler plants and chiller plants 

Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities
   » Working expertise of basic industry trades including welding, roofing, electrical, metal work, and carpentry.
   » capability to read blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
   » Proficiency in Microsoft office and working expertise of computerized systems and/or software appropriate to physical plant operations.
   » Strong interpersonal expertise.
   » Demonstrated oral and written communication expertise.
   » Planning, organizing and effective time management expertise.
   » Excellent interpersonal and communication expertise.
   » capability to work effectively under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
   » capability to anticipate and solve problems.

Starting income/Rate
Expected hiring range: $105,000 - $141,000

Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
