Job Summary The Public Safety Lieutenant is responsible for coordinating routine patrols of the campus utilizing both staff and security technology. The Lieutenant provides leadership abilities to ensure consistent and equitable enforcement of local, state, and federal laws and university regulations. The Lieutenant has responsibility for conducting and coordinating investigations within the Rensselaer Community including reviewing and approving reports on incidents and crimes and as well coordination of Title IX complaint investigations with the Division of Human Resources. The Lieutenant maintains Public Safety records, log of activities, and files in conformity with Federal, State, Local laws and regulations and Institute standards. In addition, the Lieutenant has primary responsibility for crime and incident data collection and analysis for Federal, State and agency compliance and to improve department effectiveness. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice or related field » Four (4) years' practice in safety law enforcement to include two (2) years managery practice » Must possess and maintain a valid US State driver's license candidates must meet stated minimum education and practice requirements.
