Visiting adjunct Professor of PhilosophyUnion College invites applications for a two-year position of Visiting adjunct Professor of Philosophy (Metaphysics and Epistemology, broadly construed) beginning September 1, 2025. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled. Applications received by July 6th, 2025 will receive priority consideration.We seek candidates with a specialty in Metaphysics and Epistemology, broadly construed. Areas of competence: Open, with special interest in AI, Philosophy of Technology, Philosophy of Mind. The ideal applicant will have a Ph.D. in philosophy, but advanced ABDs in philosophy will be considered. The prosperous applicant will be expected to teach in their area(s) of skills across all levels; ideally, some of these courses will contribute to our General Education Curriculum (please see: ). Teaching load is 2 courses per term; Union College's academic year consists of three 10-week trimesters. About the Philosophy Department: Union College's Philosophy department hosts one of the most impressive of any undergraduate institution in the country. The department is also home to , an undergraduate philosophy journal, founded in 2001. The department also has a student-run philosophy club. Compensation: The annual income range for this job offer is $68,500-$70,500.
