Union College is seeking an admissions professional to manage domestic territories and to be a part of our dynamic team to recruit and select a diverse and talented class that will thrive at Union.

adjunct Dean of Admissions, Coordinator of Diversity and Access Engagement

Pay Status and Classification:Exempt, Regular Full-time

Position Purpose:Plays an integral function as part of the team superviseing the College's multicultural recruitment of a diverse and talented class. Represents Union College to a wide and diverse audience all over the United States.

Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
   »
Recruitment:Represents the College at various on and off campus recruitment events, including college fairs, high school visits, open houses, and other special events to attract potential students. Coordinates, conducts, and contributes to the success of various student visit programs designed to recruit targeted applicant populations. Recruits, trains and manages student staff in support of on-campus programming to support the recruitment and enrollment of first generation and students from under-represented backgrounds.

Advisement: Advises prospective students, parents, and key stakeholders on admission criteria, program requirements, and transfer policies. Answers any questions prospective students may have. Serves as mentor to other admissions employees specifically surrounding recruitment strategies for under-represented students.

Outreach and Communication:Coordinates outreach activities & programs focused on under-represented students. Cultivates relationships, and manages continuing strategic communication with high school counselors, independent educational consultants, parents, students (prospective and current), faculty, and alumni and manages assigned recruitment territories. Partners and contacts with key campus partners, including the intercultural affairs office to support the enrollment of multicultural populations.

Additional Tasks:supervises student volunteers. Reviews and renders decisions as a member of the Committee of Admissions. Pitches-in to help colleagues when it is needed or when requested.

Qualifications required
   »
Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of Admissions practice and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and/or work practice. Prior practice working in a small, selective, liberal arts setting is preferred.
   »

Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal expertise as well as confidence and clarity in public speaking.

Facility with Microsoft Suite, Google Docs, Excel, PowerPoint and related database and word processing applications.

Compensation
The annual for this job offer is $58,500.00. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
