Job Summary The Sourcing Agent helps support the Strategic Sourcing Managers (SSMs) in determining Institute-wide contract opportunities which will deliver high-quality, value-added goods and services to the Rensselaer community. The Sourcing Agent represents the Institute in evaluating and negotiating small dollar (less than $5,000) procurements with authority to obligate financial and physical resources on behalf of the Institute, consistent with Rensselaer policies. The Sourcing Agent is primarily responsible for assisting the SSMs with supplier relationship management functions as well as coordinating campus and supplier outreach. Minimum Qualifications » Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and practice. » Minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible procurement or project management practice. significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered.
