Director of Strategy & Transformation

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Director of Strategy & Transformation. Primary Function: The Director of Strategy & Transformation will drive HVCU's strategic initiatives, fostering cross-functional collaboration and leading transformative projects. Reporting to the Chief Strategy agent, this function is crucial in aligning business strategies with corporate objectives and ensuring prosperous execution of growth and transformation efforts.
Responsibilities
   » Consulting & Strategic Development: Consult internally to develop strategies aligned with HVCU’s goals. Facilitate cross-functional collaboration, implement strategic frameworks, and provide data-driven insights.
   » Strategic Research & Intelligence: Conduct research on financial trends and regulatory changes. Develop executive reports, lead R&D efforts, and partner with external organizations to introduce innovative strategies.
   » Mergers, Acquisitions, & Growth Strategy: Evaluate M&A opportunities and market expansion initiatives. Collaborate with teams to assess growth impacts, lead due diligence, and plan integrations.
   » Enterprise-Wide Transformation & Change Management: Develop and implement frameworks for transformational change. Enhance efficiency, agility, and scalcapability, ensuring alignment with business units.
   » Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and strategic adaptcapability. Present plans to executive leadership abilities and the Board and ensure prosperous execution of initiatives.
   » Ensure all corporate development activities comply with regulatory requirements and align with the credit union’s mission and values. Coordinate with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to address potential risks and liabilities.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing or related field required. Masters preferred. 
   » Minimum 10 Years practice in banking or credit unions with practice in corporate development, strategy, or investment banking required.
   » Minimum 8 Years practice in strategy, transformation, management consulting, or corporate development.
   » Certifications in Change Management (e.g., Prosci), Project Management (PMP), or Lean Six Sigma is preferred.
