VISITING adjunct PROFESSOR OF GEOSCIENCE

The Union College Department of Geosciences invites applications for a one-year visiting position at the adjunct Professor level beginning in Fall 2024. prosperous candidates will have a Ph.D. in geosciences or a closely-related field, should have the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching, and should be committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive community.
About the Position. Teaching responsibilities will include a writing intensive mid-level sedimentology and stratigraphy course with lab, an introductory environmental geosciences course with lab, with an additional course depending on the prosperous candidate's area(s) of skills. Union has three 10-week trimesters. this job offer involves teaching one lecture and two laboratory sections for two of the trimesters, and one lecture in the third trimester. The prosperous candidate may involve undergraduates in their research program, and the Department will provide space and access to an exceptional suite of advanced instrumentation (see ), including LA-ICP-MS, a full reliable isotope lab, SEM, XRD, and ion chromatographs, in support of research.

Compensation
The annual income range for this job offer is $67,000 - $69,000 . Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
