What is a Records & Information Management Analyst?
The Records & Information Management Analyst (RIM Analyst) is a goal-oriented individual contributor that supports the goals and objectives of the Records & Information Management team, led by the manager-Records & Information Management.  This team ensures the company complies with Records & Information management guidelines driven primarily by legal and regulatory requirements.  This individual must be able to quickly lgain regulatory requirements and internal policies to be able to further educate users of their obligations concerning RIM compliance.  The RIM Analyst must have a desire to lgain new technologies and understand how to properly apply records management controls to the company’s information assets. This individual will be utilizing technology and multiple software tools to execute their job tasks. This individual must be able to communicate best practices to users and execute the activities within the RIM Program while adhering to strict deadlines. Title/level is commensurate with practice.
 
What does a Records & Information Management Analyst do?
   » Assists with developing training materials and training employees on company RIM policies, procedures, and guidelines to develop a base RIM culture
   » Partners with business units to manage folder hierarchies and retention classifications and work with content owners to administer RIM compliance
   » Leverages reporting tools to produce reports to analyze, and monitor content management system policy compliance within several content management platforms, including but not limited to Microsoft 365 Cloud platform
   » Partners with business units to utilize analytical reports to assess user behavior and identify compliance improvements
   » Coordinates disposition processing with business units to lower risk and enforce RIM policies
   » Executes RIM initiatives to improve system performance (on multiple content management platforms), policy compliance, and projects related to implementing RIM best practices
   » Continually seeks opportunities to improve RIM compliance initiatives and identify any gaps in compliance or efficiencies to automate compliance
   » Leverages technology tools to automate, evaluate and monitor compliance best practices while partnering with the business users as required
   » Performs other tasks as required or assigned either individually or collaboratively as part of a team
   » Provides support for storm restoration efforts
What does it take to be a Records & Information Management Analyst?
Required:
   » Bachelor’s degree
   » Superior analytical, organizational, and work-management expertise
   » capability to work in a deadline-oriented, fast-paced environment where multi-tasking and priority changes occur frequently
   » capability to work in a collaborative environment and partner with stakeholders in a variety of different business units
   » Strong information technology expertise, including a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
   » Excellent written and verbal communication expertise is essential, including the capability to communicate and interact professionally with business units 
   » A valid driver’s license
Preferred:
   » A degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Records & Information Management, Management Information Systems, Library Science, or related field of study
   » At least 3 years of RIM practice
   » practice with an enterprise content management (ECM) system
   » practice as a user and/or Compliance Administrator of M365/SharePoint Cloud environment
   » Certifications in RIM/Legal Compliance and/or M365/SharePoint best practices
