The Executive Director of Financial Aid & Compliance serves as the chief Financial Aid administrator responsible and accountable for the fiscal oversight of Federal, NY state and internal financial aid and scholarship programs exceeding $18 million annually and disbursed to approximately 2,400 students. this function will promote an efficient and high-quality student-centered approach to financial aid administration and ensure institutional compliance with governmental regulations including the accurate and timely preparation of all monitoring/audit reports, and proposal/implementation of solutions to any findings.
The Executive Director will provide leadership abilities to the Financial Aid Office by establishing, implementing and evaluating financial aid operations, programs and processes for the campus to ensure compliance and efficiency. this job offer will be responsible for the development and training of the financial aid team, the introduction and implementation of new technology to improve packaging and service delivery, and foster an environment of collaboration between colleagues and other departments, such as Enrollment Services and Student Accounts, to provide exemplary service to students and families.
The Executive Director of Financial Aid will also provide leadership abilities and supervision to the Registrar's office. This includes conducting performance reviews, participating in audits and ensuring compliance with Federal and state laws and regulations with regards to academic policy, integrity and records.
The Executive Director of Financial Aid will be expected to remain current with financial aid policies and emerging trends. this job offer is the subject-matter expert interpreting federal and state laws and regulations and will play a key function in ensuring that the College's policies and procedures reflect best practices in packaging and verification processes.
The Executive Director will report to the AVP of Enrollment Management and recognizes the integral function financial aid plays in student retention and completion. this function will shape the design and delivery of financial aid services and financial literacy programming for prospective and current students. this job offer will be required to travel between both campuses and other sites, as needed.

General Requirements:

Education Required: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree
practice Required : Seven years of progressively responsible practice administering financial aid programs in a college/university setting; three years of demonstrated managery, administrative and leadership abilities practice; knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs and regulations; practice preparing federal and state reports; demonstrated capability to analyze and interpret financial aid laws and regulations, and to utilize technology to efficiently process/approve student aid.
Preferred Knowledge, expertise, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:
   » Familiarity with NY State financial aid programs
   » Prior practice using Ellucian Banner Financial Aid module
   » Master's Degree or higher
   » practice operationalizing and implementing goals/strategies to improve departmental efficiency
   » capability to gather and present data in an accurate and coherent fashion, within time constraints, with minimal errors.
   » knowledge of community college students/families who may be accessing financial aid for the first time
   » capability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
   » capability to effectively establish and maintain working relationships with supervising personnel, co-workers, all college employees and the public.
   » capability to manage multiple projects.
   » Fluency in Spanish

Additional Information:

income range: $95,000 to $110,000 per annum, commensurate with practice.
