Learning & Development Specialist

We are currently recruiting for a Learning and Development Specialist to support new employee onboarding and facilitate training on core concepts for both Back Office & Member Account Specialist (Teller) functions. The individual chosen must ensure new team members are provided with the necessary knowledge and support to be prosperous in their functions. this job offer requires being on-site.
 
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 
   » Conducting virtual training for new employees on our Intranet, Email, and Knowledgebase system with an additional focus on our Core System transactions, front-line procedures, products, services, and compliance overview. This also includes collaborating with branch/department personnel to ensure the new employee training practice is consistent and smooth.
   » Maintaining training content and ensuring that material stays up to date and significant as well as evaluating the effectiveness of new employee training and modifying as needed.
   » superviseing MHV's Learning Management System, which includes managing user access, training content, and ensuring accurate training records are maintained.
   » Conducting in branch observations to ensure MHV’s training program continues to meet the needs of staff and use interactions to build relationships, gather feedback and implement new ideas to our existing onboarding program.
   » Developing and maintaining the necessary knowledge to facilitate content located on the needs of the credit union.
 
Performance Measurements include:
 
   » Assuring member service is top priority, which includes treating members and other employees professionally with courtesy and respect and upholding MHV Service Standards.
   » Maintaining in-depth knowledge of credit union products, services, policies and procedures, as well as an knowledge of the credit union's values and mission.
   » Maintaining professional, business appropriate appearance, which includes maintaining a positive attitude, encouraging credit union philosophies as demonstrated through the Service Excellence program, and upholding MHV's Guiding Principles and Core Values. 
   » Maintaining as much consistency as possible within the branch environment.
   » Staying abreast of the current trends affecting the financial services industry and having an overall knowledge of the credit union, its policies and procedures. This also includes continually expanding knowledge and developing expertise.
 
Knowledge and expertise:
 
   » One year to three years of similar or related practice.
   » A two-year college degree, or completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific expertise acquired through an apprenticeship program.
   » Work involves broad personal contact with others and is of a personal or sensitive nature. Motivating, influencing, and/or training others is key at this level. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the capability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.
   » Ideal candidates will have strong time management expertise, the capability to manage multiple workloads with prosperous results, and the capability to work independently. Candidates must also have organizational expertise, excellent verbal and written communication expertise, listening expertise, problem analysis and problem resolution, as well as above average interpersonal expertise and above-average computer expertise (i.e., Microsoft Office).
   » Is able to bend, sit, and stand in order to execute primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation. Normal range of vision and hearing abilities required. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
   » Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
   » Must be able to execute job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team. Must be able to read and carry out various written instructions and follow oral instructions. Must be able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately, and understand computer basics. Must be able to speak clearly and deliver information in a logical and understandable sequence. Must be capable of dealing calmly and professionally with numerous different personalities from diverse cultures at various levels within and outside of the organization and demonstrate highest levels of customer service and discretion when dealing with the public. Must be able to execute responsibilities with composure under the stress of deadlines / requirements for extreme accuracy and quality and/or fast pace. Must be able to effectively handle multiple, simultaneous, and changing priorities. Must be capable of exercising highest level of discretion on both internal and external confidential matters.
   » Work is generally performed within an office environment, primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Sedentary, sitting, standing, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use, and standard office equipment available.
