Coordinator of leadership abilities and New Student Transitions (live-in)

The Coordinator of leadership abilities and New Student Transitions leads new student and parent programs, advises the National Society for leadership abilities and Success, co-advises the Student Association, facilitates the campus leadership abilities programs and facilitates outreach efforts for student retention. The coordinator works to create an environment which offers intentional and educational programming aimed at the development of the whole person. 
RESPONSIBILITIES:
   » Leads, plans, implements, and assesses new student and parent orientation.
   » Coordinates the Fall Week of Welcome and additional continuing programming targeted specifically for new students.
   » Plans and implements Family Weekend programming.
   » Collaborates with various offices across campus including, but not limited to, Spiritual Life, and Services for Students with Disabilities, to offer campus discussions each semester on topics that will include bias-free communication, anti-racist writings, LGBTQ+ advocacy, gender identity and expression, first-generation and socio-economic status, religion, discapability and accessibility, and others.
   » Advises The National Society for leadership abilities programming.
   » Co- Advises the Student Association.
   » Co-manages contracts for products and services for student clubs with the Coordinator of Student Engagement and Campus Activities.
   » Designs, implements, and assesses leadership abilities programming.
   » Facilitates and supervises outreach efforts for student retention with the Coordinator of Student Engagement and Campus Activities.
   » Creates, collaborates, implements, and assesses new student bridge programs that are curricular and co-curricular in nature.
   » Collaborate with Coordinator of Student Engagement and Campus Activities to offer club leader and advisor training.
   » Hires, trains, and co-supervises graduate adjuncts and orientation leaders.
   » Plays an active function in Student Engagement social media presence, including, but not limited to, the parent Facebook group.
   » Designs and shares a monthly parent newsletter.
   » Participates on department, campus, and community committees, programs and projects as assigned.
   » Attends National Society for leadership abilities and Success and Student Association meetings. 
   » Attends conferences with National Society for leadership abilities and Success and Student Association members. 
General Requirements:
   » Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred
   » Minimum two years' practice working in a college student development area 
   » Demonstrated practice engaging and developing students
   » practice implementing new student programming initiatives
   » expertise and/or practice with leadership abilities development and programming
   » Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication expertise including the capability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of constituents including students, parents, and colleagues
   » practice implementing electronic communications to support programming via social media venues and web-located outreach is preferred
   » practice selecting, training, and supervising student workers
   » practice with event planning, and program promotion
   » practice working in a collaborative fashion with various constituencies
   » Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs
   » capability to work evenings and weekends
Additional Information:
Fully in-person, live-in position that participates in on-call duty rotation
