Operations Manager - IDD

The Operations Manager will be a member of the Program Management team in the Instructional Design and Development (IDD) unit at Excelsior University. Our team works closely with subject matter experts and other community and university stakeholders to develop transformative, engaging, high-quality learning practices for our students.  As an Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of projects within the unit.
this job offer is located out of the university's home office in Albany, NY with the option of considering remote candidates. Remote employees will have mandatory occasional travel for meetings, conferences, and professional development opportunities. Remote employees are expected to be available during work hours 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Eastern time. The University will supply necessary equipment to execute the essential functions of this job (e.g., Laptop, docking station). Employees are responsible for having a workspace where they can participate in virtual meetings without multiple interruptions and noise.
Essential tasks and Responsibilities include the following: Other tasks may be assigned.
   » supervise, facilitate, or conduct program or project management including analysis, planning, and implementation.
   » supervise project progress to ensure compliance with project budget, delivery schedule, and quality requirements in conformity with the University's program design guidelines and processes.
   » Schedule meetings and touch points with project stakeholders all over the duration of a project.
   » Provide consistent, timely, and reliable communication between all project stakeholders including subject matter experts, industry experts, community partners, and design team the University to ensure projects are thoroughly documented and understood.
   » Create long and short-term plans, including setting targets for milestones and adhering to deadlines.
   » Prepares reports to update project status.
   » Keeps track of progress and resolves issues as they arise, during all phases of projects.
   » Assist other team members on the use of project management tools.
   » Foster an environment conducive to team discussion and collaborative decision making.
   » Develop and implement recovery plans as needed.
   » Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
   » Perform other tasks as assigned or required.
   » capability to identify, assess and manage risk that could impact project timelines, resources andor quality
   » Create and maintain a project repository that supports continuous improvement and expertise sharing.
   » Promote a collaborative environment where team members feel empowered to contribute ideas and address project challenges.
   » Proactively identifies and addresses challenges, focusing on practical and effective solutions. Demonstrates resourcefulness and a commitment to overcoming obstacles to achieve project goals.

   » Bachelor’s degree in business, or unrelated bachelor’s degree and 3 years of significant practice as described in the job description.
   » Minimum of one year of practice managing multiple projects simultaneously and prosperously.
   » Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Suite.
   » broad practice with project management tools, such as Monday.com and workfront.
   » capability to work collaboratively and effectively manage projects that involve diverse individuals who may be local or at a distance.

The hiring income range for this job offer is $62,000.00 - $70,000.00. The hiring income range above represents the University's good faith estimate at the time of posting.
