Listing description The Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) is a collaboration involving SUNY Orange, the Newburgh Enlarged City School District (NFA Main/North High Schools, Heritage/South Middle Schools) and the Boys and Girls Club of Newburgh. As a New York State Education Department grant-funded initiative, the Liberty Partnerships Program is a comprehensive academic excellence program targeted at both urban and rural, middle and high school students. The program's purpose is to ensure that the youth of the Liberty Partnerships Program graduate from high school and enter post-secondary education and the workforce as highly competent and compassionate young adults. SUNY Orange is currently seeking a part-time Parent & Student Engagement Coordinator to join the Liberty Partnerships Program. The Parent & Student Engagement Coordinator will develop, coordinate, and maintain quality program parental involvement aligned with best practices that promote academic success, student and family's needs being met, and District priorities. this job offer will also be responsible for the management of student and family engagement strategies, which include building and maintaining relationships with faculty, staff, and students. The Parent & Student Engagement Coordinator will also create, strengthen, and maintain relationships between the Newburgh Enlarged City School District and the local community in the efforts to promote student educational success. Additionally, the Parent & Student Engagement Coordinator will support families in need through advocacy and referrals to available resources and support programs that are available through local and national government agencies, non-profits, community organizations and stakeholders to ensure familial stcapability for students and their families. This is a part-time position that offers a Monday through Thursday schedule with afternoon and evening hours. The Parent & Student Engagement Coordinator may be required to travel between campuses and other sites as needed. General Requirements: Education Required: Bachelor's Degree practice Required: practice working with at risk youth and underrepresented populations.
