Athletics play a key function in the student practice at Rensselaer. Over 80% of our students take part in intramurals, club sports, or intercollegiate programs. Since 1883, Rensselaer has built a legacy of achievement in athletics, led by student-athletes who excel both on and off the field. ?The Engineers? represent Rensselaer in 23 intercollegiate sports, which include a Division I women's ice hockey team, Division 1 men's ice hockey team, and 21 Division III teams. Our athletes compete in leagues that include many of the nation's top universities. Students can choose from 12 men's sports or 11 women's sports. Our athletics staff guide students in a positive culture as professional educators, mentors, volunteers, and teammates. Job Summary The Athletics Compliance Specialist reports to the Vice President for Student Life and is responsible for ensuring the athletic programs at Rensselaer are in compliance with NCAA, ECAC Hockey, Liberty League, university, and federal rules, regulations and practices. The compliance specialist strives to prevent violations of applicable athletic rules and regulations through continuous education. Minimum Qualifications » Bachelor's Degree » 5 years direct practice working with athletics compliance » practice investigating violations of NCAA, ECAC Hockey, and/or Liberty League rules and regulations significant combinations of education, training and practice may be considered.
