Job Summary The Business Administrator will supervise assigned business units in the School of Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences, providing support to both academic departments and research thrusts. The Business Administrator will be responsible for following Institute and sponsor guidelines for spending and budgeting, as well as responsible for preparing complex financial reports. The Business Administrator is responsible for providing budgets and forecasts, determining appropriate levels of graduate financial aid and cost sharing, monitoring new faculty costs, monitoring education & general, designated, and/or restricted funds, and for the preparation of other specific information, analyses, and reports as required by portfolio leadership abilities and faculty investigators. Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or similar field • Three (3) years of significant practice to include one (1) year of work practice in the administration, monitoring and management of research and/or other closely related types of restricted funds • Familiarity with federal and state government regulations as they pertain to research administration A significant combination of education and directly related practice in higher education may be substituted for a degree Preferred Qualifications Minimum expertise, expertise, and Abilities • expertise of and capability to thoroughly understand Institute and sponsor rules and regulations • capability to analyze and interpret reports, documents and statistical data • capability to execute budget reporting, forecasting, and account reconciliation • expertise of financial software including spreadsheet, database, and data warehouse applications • Proficiency in MS Office Suite software applications • capability to lgain and/or use SCT Banner finance, position control and labor modules or other appropriate applications • expertise of fund-located budgeting in a non-profit setting • Excellent verbal and written communications expertise • capability to handle multiple priorities and deadlines • capability to work as individually or as part of a team • Strong attention to detail Shift Business Hours: Monday - Friday Starting income/Rate Expected hiring range: $60,000- $61,800 Pay transparency disclosure: The selected candidate's income will be determined located on factors that include the available budget, internal equity, and the final candidate's qualifications, practice, education and other job-related credentials.
