Coordinator of Athletics Communications

Under the direction of the adjunct Athletics Director for Communications, the incumbent is responsible for internal and external communications, and branding efforts for the College's 19 intercollegiate athletics programs. Responsibilities include executing athletics communications coverage for assigned home and away athletics events, along with some game-day management supervision related to home contests.
II.  RESPONSIBILITIES:
   » Perform direct day-to-day responsibilities of assigned intercollegiate athletics programs, one of which will be swimming and diving.
   » Maintain and manage content published on the athletics website: www.gogoldenknights.com.
   » Maintain the Athletics Department social media platforms including Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook by strategically generating content, posting events and monitoring and responding to comments.
   » Maintain general information database on assigned teams and student-athletes such as bio's, records, statistics, awards, etc.
   » Cultivate a professional working relationship with local and regional media members to facilitate story placement
   » Maintain historical records, statistics and notes.
   » Research, write and design content for print and digital media platforms within established publishing requirements.
   » Compile statistics connected with assigned teams and athletic contests using various Stat Crew and Genius Sports software programs in compliance with institutional, Northeast-10 Conference, and NCAA requirements
   » Perform game-day management and special event coverage activities as assigned.
   » Coordinate the athletic department's photography and video requirements.
   » Provide supporting tasks related to the production of the College's NE10NOW.TV live streaming platform.
   » Complete required weekly reports to the Northeast-10 Conference.

General Requirements:
   » Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Communications or related field.
   » practice in a college athletics communications or professional sports media relations office.
   » Demonstrated excellent writing and editing expertise.
   » Demonstrated creative practice with the Adobe Suite; specifically Photoshop, InDesign, and Premiere software packages.
   » Advanced level computer expertise using a Mac and Windows located operating systems.
   » Demonstrated working expertise of Stat Crew software (including live in-game) for the following sports: volleyball, soccer, golf, basketball, baseball/softball, and lacrosse. practice with the Genius Stat Platform is preferred.
   » Proven skill set to further enhance the athletics department's current multi media efforts.
   » Proficiency in a variety of social media platforms.
   » practice with developing and managing website content, preferably with SIDEARM Sports web management system.
   » Proven capability with photography, video and audio editing and production.
   » Proven capability to interact with varying levels of college staff, students, and media members.
   » capability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
   » capability to lift and carry equipment of approximately 50 pounds.

Additional Information:
Full Time -11 months position 
In addition to base pay, compensation includes pro-rated participation in college health and dental benefits, paid time off, tuition remission  for employees, and the use of our fitness center.
