Security Architect

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Security Architect. Primary Function: The Security Architect assists the Senior Vice President of Enterprise Architecture to align, drive and promote the company’s technology strategy and governance in partnership with Enterprise Architects, IT leadership abilities, and business partners to provide a secure and reliable operating platform for the credit union.
The Security Architect is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust security architectures to protect the organization's financial systems and data. this function requires a deep knowledge of financial services, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of developing and executing security strategies in a financial services environment.
Responsibilities
   » Design, build, implement and support enterprise-class security systems across a variety of technology platforms including on-premises and the cloud.
   » Recommend changes to align organizational security strategy and infrastructure with overall business and technology strategy.
   » Evaluate technology platform security architecture and posture and capabilities to ensure they meet, align and support company policy and industry best practices.
   » Identify and communicate current and emerging security threats to IT and business leadership abilities.
   » Plan, research and design robust security architectures for projects that balance business requirements with information and cybersecurity requirements.
   » Identify security design gaps in existing and proposed architectures and recommend changes or enhancements.
   » Collaborate with and provide guidance to engineering and operations teams on security related implementation and operations inquiries and issues.
   » Perform or supervise vulnercapability testing, risk analyses and security assessments.
   » Review and recommend security technology solutions to IT leadership abilities and our business partners.
   » Define and maintain IT security standards in conformity with corporate security policies and procedures.
   » Assist with responses to security-related incidents and provide thorough remedial solutions and analysis.
   » Ensure architectures are flexible, scalable, and account for directional changes taking place across the enterprise.
   » Review architecture artifacts with business and technology stakeholders to ensure compliance with policies, standards, technology strategy and roadmaps.
   » Ensure security and operational integrity is sustainable.
   » Leverage best of breed technology designs.
   » Follow architectural standards and governance in line with enterprise technology roadmap, regulatory requirements, and security standards.
   » Review solution architecture artifacts with Enterprise Architecture, IT and business stakeholders at the Architecture Review Board.
   » Recommend and participate in the implementation of new processes within IT in support of enterprise architecture functions.
   » Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to incorporate solution architecture artifacts into modeling software to ensure that an accurate representation of the people, process and technology aspects of solutions are well-documented and usable by enterprise architecture stakeholders.
   » Evaluate solutions that will drive down cost of IT.
   » Work with key vendors / partners as needed to meet timelines.
   » Engage vendors for cost saving solutions.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained knowledge. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.
Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of practice in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field.
   » Minimum 7 years practice working in complex technical environments is required.
   » Minimum 3 years practice Demonstrated practice in a solution architect function or an equivalent field is required.
   » significant technical certification(s) in the area of enterprise architecture frameworks (i.e. TOGAD, Zachman, BIAN) are preferred. 
   » Security certifications in CISSP, CISM, CISA, SANS, Security+, etc.
