Director of Consumer Lending Operations

Overview

Hudson Valley Credit Union is currently recruiting for the position of Director of Consumer Lending Operations. Primary Function: Responsible for the effective management of the Consumer Lending Department consisting of Underwriters, Processors, Servicers, Business partners, and member service. Accountable for quality control, efficiencies, budget management and all Credit Union goals and objectives for Consumer Lending.
Responsibilities
   » Provide leadership abilities and oversight of the Consumer Loan process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency and superior member service in the process.
   » supervise the direct and indirect consumer lending operations to ensure the application through servicing is compliant, efficient and accurate and provides a superior member service practice.
   » Manage an indirect dealer compensation program that is in alignment with the Credit Union’s philosophy, encourages loan growth and ensures loan asset quality.
   » Research trends and developments within the Credit Union and the broader consumer market.
   » Perform on-going analysis of consumer loan programs to measure competitiveness and recommend changes or modifications as necessary.
   » Assume responsibility for the credit quality and continuing soundness of the consumer lending portfolio, including accurate and complete credit files, continuing quality control and acceptable loan reviews.
   » Mentor team members to develop and expand their underwriting, processing, servicing, and management expertise.
   » Establish relationships with external business partners to source Consumer Loan participations for purchase established by credit union polices.
   » Cultivate relationships with other Lending AVPs in the credit unions to establish service levels and loan quality.
   » Engage in strategic planning, research, development and implementation of new consumer loan products and services to ensure the Credit Union remains competitive within the market.
   » Adhere to all regulatory and Credit Union policies, guidelines and procedures, promptly following up on any documentation and collateral exceptions.
   » Develop and monitor annual goals for consumer loan origination/production. Provide input to the lending marketing plan and recommends appropriate tactics to help department meet/exceed goals.
   » Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements. Participate in all required and recommended training and development including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA) and demonstrate attained expertise. Participate on Credit Union teams, projects and strategic initiatives when the opportunity arises. Perform additional tasks and special projects as assigned.
   » Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities. This includes the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, Core Values, Employee and Member Value Propositions, Sales and Service Model, and commitment to Lean Six Sigma practices. Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
   » Responsible for regular and predictable attendance including punctuality.

Qualifications
   » Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years equivalent practice for each undergraduate year not completed; undergraduate degree cannot substitute for minimum number of years of practice Degree may not substitute for practice required
   » Registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS) required
   » Minimum 7 Years Lending practice required
   » Minimum 5 Years Consumer Lending practice required
   » Minimum 5 Years leadership abilities practice required
   » Minimum 3 Years Consumer Loan Underwriting practice required
