Family Support Worker, Healthy FamiliesJOB DESCRIPTIONAs a Family Support Worker, you will provide parenting education and support to families. Healthy Families is a home visiting program designed to assist parents in enhancing or learning the expertise that enable them to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for their children. You will report to the Healthy Families manager and work onsite with the required community-located travel.Responsibilities: » Establish positive and professional relationships with families and provide services in their home. » Utilize appropriate curricula and support materials to educate families on positive parent-child interaction and child development. » Model and demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making expertise. » Assist families in becoming more discerning consumers of community services and make referrals as need arise. » Participate in the development of a service plan for each family. » Ensure that families have identified a primary healthcare provider and are receiving essential medical services. » Responsibly perform tasks connected with special program services i.e. FRC, special events, etc. » Complete assigned paperwork as required. » Perform other related tasks as assigned by manager. Requirements and suitable education » High School Diploma » Two years of work practice in human services. » practice with parenting education and/or early childhood development, preferred. » Must have a valid NYS driver's license, safe driving record, and have access to a vehicle for full-time business use.
