Front End Manager - Adams Wallkill

Front End (Cashiers) Manager:  The Front End Manager manager offers customer-friendly service to our valuable internal and external customers and provides the quality that Adams is known for. This means directly superviseing a team of cashiers who are all responsible for greeting and acknowledging customers, ringing up customer orders using our POS system, maintaining outstanding department standards, and having a general expertise of the stores products.
Qualified candidates for this job offer must have at least three years of management practice in a high-volume, food retail setting. A full job description can be found below.

Reports to: Store Manager, adjunct Store Manager
Job Description
   » Schedule and work alongside cashiers to ensure a smooth operation for each shift using an employee count that reflects the busy and slow periods
   » Hire, suspend or terminate personnel under your control with approval from Store Management
   » Perform employee success plans to discuss the growth of your personnel
   » Master our POS system to effortlessly ring up customers while providing outstanding and friendly customer service
   » Train, develop and coach new hires and existing employees for competence in their position
   » Interact with employees and assist customers in response to their concerns and complaints
   » Ensure accurate register entries by entering in correct UPCs and training your staff to do the same
   » Practice and instill the highest code of ethics with all transactions and cash-handling.
   » Support cashiers when they need assistance; bagging, getting change, covering breaks, etc.
   » Develop break schedules that allow for each cashier to take their breaks as needed
   » Develop an adjunct to maintain department operations while you were off
Required expertise and practice
   » 3-5 more years or more in retail supervision or management
   » Proven practice using POS systems
   » capability to manage a large staff with varying schedules
   » Exceptional communication expertise and attention to detail
   » Must be a team player with a positive attitude
Mental/Reasoning Requirements
   » Must be able to operate cash register
   » Be polite, courteous & patient with each customer
   » capability to memorize product codes
   » capability to delegate and grow staff
   » Comfortable with Computers & The Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
   » Excellent English speaking expertise
   » Communicate effectively with customers, co-workers, and managers
