REGISTERED NURSE

Work Days: Monday - Friday
Hours Per Week: 40
Weeks Per Year: 34
Pay Status and Classification: Non-exempt, regular full-time. This is a 10-month position.
manager: Director of the Health Center
Position Purpose: The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical function in providing high-quality healthcare services to Union College students. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible results. Participates in campus outreach activities.
Essential Responsibilities and tasks:
   »Patient suitable education Provides comprehensive healthcare education to students ensuring they have a clear knowledge of their medical conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care strategies. Responds to students' inquiries, concerns, and questions regarding their health, offering empathetic and informative guidance. Connects students with significant healthcare resources, both on and off-campus, to support their overall well-being.
   »Patient Care: Works with Nurse Practitioners, Physician adjuncts, and collaborating Physician in executing prescribed treatment, medications, and referrals. Conducts thorough patient assessments, including medical history reviews and physical examinations, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning. Triages and manages phone calls and walk-in appointments from students seeking medical assistance, ensuring timely and appropriate care.
   »Campus Outreach: Actively participates in on-campus student health initiatives, such as flu shot clinics and wellness fairs, to promote health and wellness within the student community. Facilitates health education workshops or seminars to raise consciousness about various health topics, encouraging proactive health behaviors among students. Other tasks and projects as assigned.
Qualifications required
   » Associate Degree in nursing and/or a combination of significant education, training, certifications, and work practice. A Bachelor's Degree, practice in college health or school nursing and phlebotomy practice is preferred.
   » CPR certification or capability to obtain prior to start.
   » capability to multitask, work independently, and prioritize appropriately.
   » Excellent written and oral communication expertise.
   » Strong customer service expertise.
   » The capability to foster and enhance a thriving, culturally diverse, and inclusive learning community, while promoting a sense of belonging among students, alumni, faculty, and staff colleagues.
   » capability to lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.), and stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.
   » Able to proactively identify and pursue significant learning and professional development opportunities and apply new knowledge, insights, and expertise to enhance results.

Compensation
The expected rate for this job offer is $33.00 - $36.00 an hour. Except for functions with a set rate of pay, the wage/income of the finalist selected for this function will be set located on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, practice, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The stated hiring rate/range represents the College's good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate/range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
